On Sunday afternoon, 21st October, Dunkertons Cider threw open its doors and had our first Open Day of 2018!
The weather was gorgeous, and we were very happy to see so many families turn up to what was a great day for both visitors and staff alike.
We had several activities for everyone to get involved in. One of the most popular was the opportunity for the children to use a traditional hand mill with our apples that produced the most delicious apple juice that we served from the food truck outside the shop!
The food truck was also a hotspot, where everyone was able to purchase some delicious Pumpkin and Apple soup, Pomme Frites or freshly filled baguettes.
As it is our pressing season we gave a bottling demonstration and showed our visitors how we put the sparkle into our cider and then the cider into the bottle, whilst outside, our production team of Jack and Sam, gave everyone a demonstration of how we get the juice from our apples, through our impressive pressing machinery!
It was so nice to see our new shop busy too, with everyone taking a keen interest in all we have to offer, it certainly kept our two Retail Assistants, Trevor and Ian on their toes, whilst they both served and gave explanatory tastings to anyone who wanted to try our lovely organic ciders.
Outside the shop, whilst people were sat enjoying a glass of our award-winning organic cider or Perry, children were treated to free face painting with apples being very popular art on the day!
