Bombay Street Food Company has officially re-opened at Dunkertons Park.
The new addition, a blend of Eastern flavours from across India and South Asia, has been inspired by The Gagan, the tandoor, brasserie and bar that has opened further down the London Road.
Bombay Steet Food Co, will be serving breakfasts that include dosa, a thin, savoury pancake in Indian cuisine made from a fermented batter of ground black gram and rice, as well as smoked salmon khichdi, yellow lentils and rice porridge, with poached eggs and smoked salmon. The daytime offering has delights such as murgh koh kora, a spicy battered chicken dish, or singara, a traditional bhaji, or the filling kati kebab, naan bread stuffed with braised tandoor cooked lamb shank, peppers, onions, drizzled with a mint chutney.
The Indian, Asian street food concept was trialled last year at The Cheltenham Literature Festival to the applause of many of those attending. The menu and concept was helped and developed by chef and celebrated chef and Cheltenham restaurateur – Ram Jalustram
The Gagan’s manager, Ragu Yadav Narravula said of the new Bombay Street Kitchen: We believe we are offering something truly unique to Dunkertons customers.
“The breakfasts have gone down extremely well and the dosa’s are now a firm fixture, so many had never heard of this traditional dish.”
